November 20, 2006 update--Amazing Results!!

Amazing response certainly sums up our 2nd faith promise mission conference! What a great conference we had. Our guest preacher was Dr. John Halsey International Representative with BIMI. He has such a fantastic way of presenting faith promise. The folks in our church are really beginning to see that the world is more then just Dublin, Ireland. We had the Williams missionaries from Northern Ireland to Honduras and the Pereiras from Portugal to their home land of Portugal. God used Dr. Halsey in a special way to bring the reality of the needs of the world before our church and to then challenge the hearts of our church with the responsibility of continuing to reach the lost in Dublin while at the same time reaching out to the lost around the world. Last year our church gave €5,000 to missions for our first ever faith promise commitment. Praise the Lord that we met that commitment in total! This year were were all amazed with great delight when the total commitment for the upcoming year of €11,000 was announced to the church last night! How exciting and what a joyous time we had in praising the Lord with a more then double commitment from the previous year. Kieran MacCourt gave a testimony in the morning service and as soon as he was done Eamonn MacDonnell stood up and said, "I would like to give a testimony too." He came to the front and thanked God for his salvation and his fast growing love for the Lord. He then gave testimony to the fact that he has begun witnessing to others at work as well as putting tracts out in the neighborhood where he is working. Continue to pray for Eamonn's wife Aileen. She thinks he is on some passing phase in his life, but she did make a big plumb tart for him to bring to the international banquet on Saturday night! We are trusting the Lord for her soon salvation. Eamonn is burdened for her and the rest of his family. Speaking of International banquet with seven different nationalities in our church we had a very authentic international banquet that was out of this world. Lord willing I will get some picture out soon. Thank you for praying for our conference.

May the Lord find us faithful!

November 17, 2006 update

Dear Friends,

Well, it has been a couple weeks since I have sent an update. Things are going well here in Ireland. We have been busy getting ready for our 2nd missions conference. Please be in prayer that the Lord would do a great work in the hearts of our small group of believers. We start tonight and will have an International Banquet tomorrow followed by another service as well as continue through all services on Sunday. Dr. John Halsey from BIMI will be our speaker this year. He is a great man to have for a conference to very clearly present faith promise missions. As a church we were able to give 5,000 Euro last year. With sending a missionary out of our own work here we Lord willing need to get over the 7,000 Euro mark. Please be in prayer these next couple of days that the hearts of God's people will be strengthened in their faith and be simply willing to follow as the Lord leads. I will send out a note next week to let you know how our weekend goes. By the way we will also be hosting a preachers fellowship on Monday with Dr. Halsey having three opportunities to open the Word. This will be our second time doing this. It is a time for the pastors and missionaries in Ireland and Northern Ireland to be encouraged and fellowship together. Our church will provide a luncheon for these men as well. Our hearts desire is to simply be a blessing to other men of God. Please pray that this meeting will meet the needs that may be on some preachers heart.

We are also excited to have Lisa's sister coming in tomorrow for a visit during the next week as well.

May the Lord find us faithful,
Don Thatcher
